Miss Berdena Jay

Miss Berdena Jay was the first librarian of the Shenandoah Public Library, and served for 43 years from 1905-1948. Jay was born January 10, 1869 near Waverly, Iowa and graduated from Drake University in 1892. She served as a schoolteacher before being appointed to the role of librarian.
